What an affiliate link is

Some of the links on this site are tracked. When you click one and book a service or buy a product, the provider can see that you came from us. If you complete the booking or purchase, we receive a small commission. The price you pay does not change because of the affiliate link.

Who we have affiliate partnerships with

Affiliate partnerships on this site may include national pet end-of-life service providers (such as in-home euthanasia networks and dedicated cremation companies), memorial product retailers (such as urn and keepsake sellers), and general retail networks (such as Amazon Associates). The current list of partners changes over time as our outreach progresses. When a partnership is active, the provider’s listing reflects that in our internal admin.

What an affiliate link never affects

1. 1Whether a provider is featured. We feature providers based on the editorial standards described on our How We Choose Providers page. A provider that does not meet those standards does not appear here, no matter what they would pay us.
2. 2Where a provider ranks on a page. Featured providers are listed in editorial order based on fit for the typical family in that city. We do not move providers up the list because they pay better.
3. 3What we write about a provider. Our reviews include real limitations and weaknesses, not just the marketing copy a provider would prefer.

What an affiliate link does affect

1. 1How we keep the site running. Affiliate commissions, together with the search ads we run to bring families here, are how we cover the cost of research, writing, hosting, and ongoing review work. Without these revenue streams, the site does not exist.
2. 2Which providers we approach first. When we identify a provider we believe is genuinely strong, we may approach them about an affiliate partnership. We do not approach providers we would not feature anyway.

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission guidelines for affiliate and endorsement disclosures (16 CFR Part 255). It is also intended to align with similar disclosure rules in other jurisdictions.
