Questions Worth Answering Before You Call
Choose proximity or price visibility. Serene Reflections is in Indianapolis and collects from home, but quotes by phone; Indiana Pet Aquamation is in Lebanon and publishes packages, with transport to its facility included.
Ask what level of separation you are buying. Indiana Pet describes individual processing with partitions and fully private processing alone for $100 more. Serene does not publish service tiers, so ask whether another pet shares the machine and exactly which ashes return.
Compare both quotes with local flame cremation. Indianapolis providers publish about $50 communal and $100 to $275 private for a medium dog, while Indiana Pet's 26 to 50 pound individual packages run $450 to $525 and Serene's total is unknown.
Put the return date beside the ownership model. Serene, part of Unity Group, states 3 to 5 business days; veterinarian-led Indiana Pet states about one week. Ask who keeps your pet during that interval and where the ashes are collected.
