Questions Worth Answering Before You Call
Ask your veterinarian whether it can identify the facility that will perform the aquamation. Eastview in Ottumwa advertises water cremation through a partner but does not name the processor, so do not assume the work happens there.
If you consider the drive, ask about intake before leaving Des Moines. Eco Animal Cremation in Omaha is closer, but it is owned by Gateway Services and we do not recommend it; Heartland Pet Aquamation in Kansas City is the nearer locally owned alternative we found.
Compare the full transport total with local flame cremation. Des Moines currently publishes about $87 to $100 communal and $235 to $399 private for a medium dog, without a multi-state handoff.
