Pet Passages Rochester publishes its aquamation prices by weight and package: for a 21-to-65-pound pet, $150 for the basic package with ashes returned in a velvet pouch, $200 to $235 for the urn packages and $385 for the top memorial package. The Ontario facility is about 17 miles east of Rochester, uses a numbered metal disc and digital tracking, and says remains are normally ready within 72 hours or 3 business days.
One thing to know: Package prices do not include sales tax, pickup or delivery: home pickup is $90 for pets under 50 pounds and $160 over, and certified mail return is $60. Witnessing is described for truly private flame cremation, not aquamation, so families who want to be present need to ask rather than assume.
Questions Worth Answering Before You Call
Choose the package as well as the weight tier. The basic aquamation package, with ashes returned in a velvet pouch, runs $120 to $210 from pets under 20 pounds through 225 pounds. For a medium dog the urn packages are $200 to $235, and the top memorial package with a brass urn and pendant is $385.
Add transport before comparing the total. Home pickup is priced separately, $90 for pets under 50 pounds and $160 over, with after-hours calls and outer counties costing more. Drop-off at 348 State Route 104 in Ontario avoids a pickup charge when scheduled.
Confirm the promised return method. Pet Passages says remains are normally ready within 72 hours or 3 business days, and offers facility pickup, hand delivery or certified mail. Ask which option is included and what each alternative costs.
Do not assume the flame-cremation witness policy applies. The site describes witnessing for truly private flame cremation but does not confirm it for aquamation. Ask directly if you want to be present for placement into the water-based unit.
